Anglers Find Mahi Mahi Feeding Frenzy in New Episode of “Chasin’ The Sun"

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. Capt. Justin Leake shares the boat with Bill Carson of Johnson Outdoors and unlocks the secrets to the company’s innovative “One Boat Network” in One Boat, Many Fish, the latest episode of “Chasin’ The Sun.” The award-winning television show, presented by Visit Panama City Beach, will air on Saturday, February 8 at 8:30 a.m. Eastern & Pacific / 7:30 a.m. Central on Discovery Channel.

After Carson provides hands-on instructions for linking Capt. Leake’s dash-mounted fish finder to his bow-mounted trolling motor, the pair heads out into the Gulf of Mexico for the ultimate test. Using the Humminbird to locate a mahi mahi feeding frenzy and Minn Kota’s Spot-Lock feature to keep the boat in position, Capt. Leake and Carson are free to enjoy a day of tight lines and exciting catches.

“Cutting-edge technology is transforming practically every aspect of our daily lives, and for the modern angler, it’s providing unprecedented opportunities to guarantee a productive day on the water,” says Capt. Leake. “You can call me ‘lazy,’ but if the technology is available, then I’m going to use it.”

Later in the episode, “Chasin’ The Sun” checks in at Grand Lagoon during the annual Pirates of the High Seas Festival, where a flotilla of kids fights to protect Panama City Beach from invading swashbucklers in a fun-filled water cannon fight.

The fishing and coastal lifestyle television program showcases the diverse angling, diving and cultural opportunities found in the emerald-green waters of Panama City Beach. Season five sponsors of “Chasin’ The Sun” include B&W Trailer Hitches, D.O.A Fishing Lures, Dorado Custom Boats, Dulce Vida Tequila, FireDisc Cookers, Holiday Inn Resort, Humminbird, Minn Kota, Native Eyewear and Pirates Cove Marina.
