Sarah Burke has joined Shimano North America Fishing Inc. as its Senior Marketing Manager.
Sarah Burke has been appointed Senior Marketing Manager at Shimano North America Fishing Inc.
She will lead marketing staff for all brands and products, including Shimano rods, reels, lures and lifestyle gear, G. Loomis rods, PowerPro braided line and Jackall Lures.
Burke previously led marketing efforts for Vail Resorts and also has consumer goods experience with Osprey Packs. She will be based at the Shimano headquarters in Ladson, South Carolina.
Announcing the appointment, Shimano North America Vice President Steve Ferrara said Burke’s marketing background and knowledge at retail level will help the Shimano business, ‘especially with both independent and key multi-store tackle shops’.
“Her skill set in retail sales and marketing will be a benefit to all our brands,” he added.
Burke graduated from Marlboro College in Vermont and earned an MBA from Colorado State University and a Masters in Sports Management/Marketing from the University of Tennessee.
She serves on the Board of the Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education and received a First Ascent Award for leadership from the Outdoor Industry Women’s Coalition.
