Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation to Host Western Policy Forum
| August 11, 2017
On August 14, the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation will host a half-day policy forum and reception in Tacoma, Washington. The event precedes the Council of State Governments (CSG) West Meeting in Tacoma the same week and will feature western state legislators, sportsmen's representatives, and outdoor industry partners, who will cover sportsmen's policy issues.

The event will be hosted by CSF Northwest States Manager Zach Widner and Pacific Southwest States Coordinator Soren Nelson.

The policy forum will feature presentations on a number of western-centric policy issues, including efforts to reform and improve federal forest management and the benefits that these reforms will have for habitat and wildlife; the most useful mechanisms and considerations for building an active and effective state legislative sportsmen's caucus; and efforts to combat misinformed and misleading anti-trapping and anti-hunting campaigns and initiatives.

Following the policy forum will be a reception celebrating our sportsmen's heritage. Among the organizations supporting the event are Furtakers of America, Healthy Forests/Healthy Communities, the Oregon Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
