Jacksonville Kayak Fishing Classic May 9-10 to Provide On-Water Check-In
| May 7, 2014
JACKSONVILLE, FL - - JaxKayakFishing.com, Northeast Florida's online kayak fishing community and host of the 2014 Columbia Sportswear Jacksonville Kayak Fishing Classic on May 9-10 is pleased to announce that this year technology provided by 321Fish.com will enable anglers to check-in their catches from the water during the world's largest kayak fishing tournament.

From the days of disposable cameras, to the time of inexpensive digital cameras, and now in this era of smartphones and 3G/4G cellular communications, over its ten year history the Classic has pioneered and continued to evolve Catch-Photo-Release rule formats that are used industry-wide. This year the Classic is partnering with 321Fish.com to use their online scoring portal and smartphone apps to enable anglers to check-in their fish from the water, allowing extended fishing hours and ultimately real-time scoring during the event.

According to Mike Kogan, tournament director, "In the past, anglers have been required to bring their cameras to our check-in venue by 4pm. Now they will be able to fish up until the last minute since they can check-in their scoring fish pictures via the internet from the water as they are caught. Rapidly evolving cellular technology, better cameras on smartphones, and 321Fish.com's unique online fish scoring software are making this next evolution of CPR fishing possible and anglers are excited. We think this is the future of fishing and our community is riding the edge of the technology wave."
