| July 3, 2012
POCATELLO, Idaho-A devastating wildfire just south of Pocatello, Idaho, last week destroyed the physical inventory ofMorningstar Lanyards, along with nearly 70 homes and a number of outbuildings. Nobody was killed in the fire, but the fly fishing business took a serious hit, according to owner Lynda MacButch.

"We lost our entire inventory, and all of our raw materials," MacButch said. "It was a nasty fire."

MacButch also lost her home in the blaze.

Nevertheless, MacButch has vowed to rebuild the business and continue crafting her signature lanyards that have become popular among anglers for their versatility and their comfort.

"I think it's safe to say that we'll be a bit behind on our orders until we can rebuild our inventory and raw materials supply," MacButch said. "But we'll get through this. I'm just asking our dealers for a bit of patience and understanding as we deal with this tragedy."

Morningstar Lanyards is a contributor to Trout Unlimited through the 1% for the Planet program founded by Yvon Chouinard and Craig Mathews. One percent of all profits from members of this program go to conservation efforts-MacButch has earmarked her company's profits to Trout Unlimited.
