FALL STEWARDSHIP PLEDGE WEEK

Council Bluffs, Iowa - Fishing seasons are unofficially winding down in parts of the country, while things are just heating up in others. But the problems facing our fisheries know no season, and the reasons are many and complex. Recycled Fish, a non-profit organization, has a unique solution to these problem - getting the people who love to fish involved in solving those problems through everyday choices both on and off the water.

"Our lifestyle runs downstream," says Teeg Stouffer, Executive Director. "So while things that we do on the water - things like catch and release fishing or cleaning up used fishing line - matter very much, so do the things we do every day, like how we care for our lawns or whether or not we use low-flow shower heads."

"There's no group better suited to leading the charge for stewardship than America's 40 million anglers," says Stouffer. "Those of us who fish have a passion for our lakes, streams and seas and a first-hand connection to the fish that live in them."

Fall is a great time to be fishing, it involves some of the hottest action of the year. But mornings on the water can be chilly, so when anglers stand up as stewards by taking the Sportsman's Stewardship Pledge during the Fall Stewardship Pledge week, they'll get a pair of Grabber Handwarmers as a bonus gift in addition to the other items in their "Stewardship Kit."

"Our Stewardship Kit is packed with stewardship tips to help anglers learn how to lead a more fish-friendly lifestyle," says Alex Gonzales, Membership Director. "But it's also got stuff like biodegradable FoodSource Lures, non-toxic Ultra Steel weights from Bullet Weights, Daiichi Circle hooks and a coupon for a low-flow showerhead from Evolve showerheads."

"We're doing more than educating anglers, we're equipping them," says Stouffer.

To take the Sportsman's Stewardship Pledge, anglers can log on to www.RecycledFish.org, or visit one of our live events taking place around the country. A complete listing of events is available at the website.

The Fall Stewardship Pledge week including the bonus free Grabber Handwarmer takes place from September 27 - October 5, 2008, while supplies last.
