One of the hardest things to get kids re-accustomed to is getting up early. They might not have any problem getting up at the crack of dawn to catch fish or play in a baseball tournament, but the same can't be said for catching the bus. This recipe came from one of my daughters and is one of my favorites for this time of the year since most of the work is done the night before. When you get up in the morning to start your coffee and get ready for work or to see the kids off, just pop it in the oven. By the time the kids hit the snooze bar a few times, the delicious smell of this casserole will coax them out of bed and have them ready to start the day. It's also great for Sunday School classes or brunches. Sausage Casserole 1 pound Sausage 6 eggs 1/2 pound Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese 5 slices White Bread torn into pieces 2 cups Milk 1/2 teaspoon Paprika 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce 1 teaspoon Dry Mustard 1/2 teaspoon Salt Brown sausage, drain. Mix eggs, milk, mustard, salt and Worcestershire sauce. Stir in bread, sausage and cheese. Put mixture in greased casserole dish and refrigerate overnight. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Sprinkle with paprika. Serves 8-10 people. Ranger Boats co-founder Nina Wood has compiled some her own favorite recipes and recipes from family and friends in a cookbook entitled Nina's Favorite Recipes. Copies of the book are available for $9.95 plus $2.50 shipping. To order, call the Forrest L. Wood Outdoor Sports Gallery at (870) 453-3210 or go to www.flwsportsgallery.com. |
